Role Summary

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for an Assitant Vice President (Fixed Term Contract) for our Finance Department to join our team. 

As subject matter specialist shall support Management Information team by taking ownership for the execution of Management Information and Business Support and other related tasks for SMBC Dubai & ME regional offices in compliance with internal policies and procedures. (SMBC values: Quality and sustainable growth).

  • Solid experience developing Management Information reporting, preferably within a financial institutio
  • Educated to bachelors’ level; any professional qualification is considered as a plus
  • Good understanding of bank’s products and services
  • Ability to deal with large data sets for reporting.
  • Be able to manage complexity
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Expert knowledge in Excel and overall tech-savvy to work with tools like PowerBI or CoPilot.
  • Demonstrating and promoting team spirit
  • Be able to work independently

Business Area

  • Management Information – Key role in ongoing timely & accurately compilation of Management Information pack in coordination with internal policy and management expectations for SMBC Dubai & all ME offices ( including SMBC BI ADGM).
  • Support in timely compilation of all LMC , RHME ,Finance Committee and any other Adoc reporting in coordination with all departments., Support in automation, of new Management information reporting.
  • Proactively work towards improvement of MI packs in order to support business decision making for all departments ( including META)
  • Support senior management and front office for any management Information requirements at short notice.
  • Key role in conducting business analysis in order to partner with front offices (including META) and management for business decisions.
  • Closely coordinate with London Finance team for preparing various Business Analysis for Front offices specially META.

Position Description

  • Assist in ongoing timely & accurately compilation of Management Information pack in coordination with internal policy and management expectations. for SMBC Dubai & all ME offices ( including SMBC BI ADGM).
  • Support in compilation of management information reports of SMBC DIFC branch – Dubai and other regional offices in an accurate, complete and timely manner.
  • Proactively work towards improvement of MI packs in order to support business decision making for all departments ( including META)
  • Close coordination with UK management reporting & analytics group to enhance analytics for Middle east region ( including META) for business decision support
  • Assist in implementation of new management information request after performing impact analysis by either developing manual work around till the process is automated by developing adequate control.
  • Support all management information automation project by performing testing and clearly articulate finding which will enable internal and external development teams to incorporate the change in time.
  • Support in prepare various management information report / packs for senior management based on set process which support them in effective decision making.
  • Prepare / update procedure and guidance note on each activity performed on regular basis.
  • Conduct business analysis in order to partner with front offices and management for business decisions
  • Support senior management and front office for any management Information requirements at short notice.
  • Continuous enhancement of management information pack in line with business requirements.
  • Competent contact person for the different departments for all questions arising from the above-mentioned activities
  • Key role in various automation initiative and coordinate with external & internal stakeholders for implementing various automation solution for MI within the ME region.
  • Provide daily support to all departments & F&C sections relating to Management Information matters
  • Supporting in compilation and preparation of the Management Information reporting (Monthly / Quarterly / Annual / Adhoc)
  • Support the line manager in implementing adequate polices & procedure within MI and having appropriate governance
  • Proactively work towards improvement of MI packs in order to support business decision making for all departments ( including META)
  • Assist various departments within the branch for their queries in relation to management information and any other adhoc requirements.
  • Ad-hoc support to key projects in relation to MI impact.
  • Close coordination with UK management reporting & analytics group to enhance analytics for Middle east region ( including META) for business decision support
  • A good team player
  • Act as backup for other team members.
