The Toronto Centre for Real-World Evidence (T-RWE) at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto, is a leading hub for advancing the generation and use of real-world evidence to inform health policy, clinical practice, and drug safety. Situated within Canada’s premier pharmacy faculty and embedded in a globally recognized health research ecosystem, T-RWE brings together interdisciplinary experts in pharmacoepidemiology, data science, and health policy to address pressing challenges in medication use and health systems. Through innovative research, strong partnerships with policymakers and healthcare stakeholders, and a commitment to methodological excellence, T-RWE is shaping how real-world data are leveraged to improve patient outcomes, ensure the safe and effective use of medications, and strengthen evidence-based decision-making across Canada and internationally.

 

Your opportunity:

 

The Research Engagement Officer will play a central role in advancing the mission of the Toronto Centre for Real-World Evidence (T-RWE) by supporting the execution of its strategic vision and day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Director, this position will work closely with internal team members, the executive committee and external partners to strengthen engagement across the health and policy sectors, including researchers, decision-makers, and system stakeholders. The role is responsible for facilitating partnerships, coordinating key initiatives, and ensuring the effective delivery of T-RWE’s programs and activities. As part of a dynamic and collaborative team embedded within the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, the Research Engagement Officer will contribute to a fast-paced, impact-oriented environment that values innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world impact on health systems and medication use.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Promoting research initiatives to increase program visibility and reputation
  • Liaising with agencies, collaborators, industry sponsors, faculty and other stakeholders regarding funding applications
  • Writing grant applications
  • Tracking and collecting information on project progress
  • Coordinating tasks for projects and other strategic initiatives with stakeholders
  • Overseeing tasks related to the production and dissemination of communications/marketing materials
  • Delivering presentations to promote programs, opportunities and/or initiatives

 

Essential Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, or an acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum three years of combined experience working in operations, administration, or research roles supporting initiatives
  • Minimum one year of experience in a research or equivalent environment
  • Experience fostering and sustaining relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Strong experience coordinating project tasks, including planning and implementing project phases
  • Demonstrated experience drafting written documents, including funding proposals and annual reporting documents
  • Experience planning and coordinating small and large events and meetings with high-profile attendees
  • Experience in scheduling meetings and taking meeting minutes
  • Working knowledge of grants administration and research funding
  • Proficiency with generating reports for decision making purposes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills to achieve results and to meet critical timelines in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Proven organizational skills, ability to be detail-oriented, and ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities, managing multiple projects concurrently, and completing work in required time frames
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office, content management system (WordPress)

Assets (Nonessential):

 

  • Project Management Professional(PMP) certification is an asset
  • Experience writing and coordinating grant applications
