About the Role
This is a truly exciting and career-defining opportunity for a Grade 4 Occupational Therapist – Research Lead to provide strategic leadership for Occupational Therapy improvement and research and drive the translation of clinically relevant evidence into practice across Monash Health.
Working within Allied Health, Adult Inpatient Care (AHAIC), you’ll be a peer-recognised clinical expert who leads quality improvement and research capability, strengthens governance, supports funding success, and builds collaborations that generate real-world improvements in service delivery and consumer outcomes. In this pivotal leadership role, you will:
- Lead OT research strategy and priorities aligned to organisational goals and clinically relevant needs, driving an innovation-focused research culture.
- Translate evidence into practice by leading knowledge translation initiatives that improve consumer outcomes, service delivery, and system performance.
- Build research capability and capacity through mentoring, workforce development, and strengthening research governance, systems, and infrastructure for ethical, high-quality delivery.
- Grow research activity, funding, and partnerships by supporting grants and project delivery, and strengthening collaborations with clinicians, universities, and health services.

You’ll join a collaborative and values-driven allied health community committed to clinical excellence, innovation, workforce development, and advancing research as a pathway to better care.
About You
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:
- Extensive specialist knowledge and experience in clinical occupational therapy and applied research.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver and evaluate research, with a strong publication track record and/or successful grant applications.
- Advanced expertise in evidence-based practice, implementation, and translating evidence into real-world clinical change.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with an ability to build collaborations with universities, industry and professional bodies.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills, including policy/procedure development and research grant writing.
- Effective project management and a practical, outcomes-focused approach.
