Position Title: Research Scientist - New Product Development

Level: Exectives

Reporting to (Title): Head - New product Development

Position Purpose

The role holder shall report to the  Head - New product Development  and shall be responsible for testing of new active ingredients against target insect/disease/nematode species for the purpose of advancing the identified leads from the  discovery to pre-development. Tracking the biology & toxicology study progress, data collection, analysis and storage in ELN.

Strategic Responsibilities

Remain at the cutting edge of knowledge required for the new a.i. discovery/development activity in crop protection through constant updating of personal knowledge and own skill-sets

Operational Responsibilities

Research Activities

• Testing of new active ingredients against target insect/disease/nematode species in the lab/GH/Field in the international locations
• Planning and coordinating payments, sample requirments of development & toxicology studies.
• Monitoring the development & toxicology study progress, data collection, analysis and generating insights.
• Troubleshoot and solve scientific problems.
• Present results in cross-functional project teams and work across various projects / programs.

Documentation

• Document and record findings in electronic notebook/research reports / papers for further dessimination / filing.

Process Adherance & improvements

• Adhere to all safety / information security / quality norms related to research procedures.
• Participate in process improvement inititatives under direction of Head – New Product Development.

• Lead professional development through continuous learning and development initiatives within and outside the organization.
• Collaborate with team members and cross functional teams to ensure meeting research objectives.

Education Qualification

PhD / MSc in Agriculture or allied subjects (Plant pathology/Entomology/Crop Protection)

Work Experience

2-3 years of post-academic industrial research experience

Industry to be Hired from

Agro Chemical / Seed / Agriculture Universities or Institutes
