Salary Range: £648.39 - £670.98 per week / £17.0629 - £17.6574 per hour (non- pensionable Market Forces Supplement £2.56 per hour)

   

Working Arrangements: Full Time

    

The States of Guernsey are looking for a SEWAGE SPECIALIST DRIVER to join the team at Guernsey Water.

 

The Driver is responsible for assisting in the delivery of Guernsey Water's Cesspit Emptying Service, a critical public service that supports properties across the island that are not connected to the public sewer network. Working as part of a team of 36 Driver team, the post holder will safely and efficiently operate specialist tanker vehicles and equipment to collect, transport and discharge wastewater in accordance with operational, environmental and health and safety requirements. The role involves undertaking scheduled, ad-hoc and emergency cesspit collections, providing excellent customer service, and contributing to the reliable operation of a service that is essential to protecting public health and the environment. As the service continues to evolve through improvements in technology, scheduling and operational practices, post holders will be expected to embrace new ways of working and support the continuous improvement of service delivery. The role requires flexibility, a strong safety culture, and the ability to undertake the physical and manual aspects associated with wastewater collection operations. Through their work, Drivers play a vital role in ensuring the continued delivery of an essential service to island residents and businesses.
