Job Overview
This position will work closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Operations) to drive strategic sourcing and supplier development for plating (electroplating) categories, ensuring alignment with BU priorities and achieving cost, quality, and delivery targets.
The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail-oriented, and hands-on, with solid experience in plating procurement within the electronics industry, strong understanding of various plating processes, and proven track record in strategic sourcing and supplier management.
Job Requirements

Plating Category Strategic Sourcing
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for plating suppliers.
- Manage end-to-end RFQ/RFI processes and lead supplier selection.
Supplier Optimization & Development
- Identify, evaluate, and develop plating suppliers with strong capability in technology, quality, cost, and capacity.
- Execute supplier consolidation, dual sourcing, and risk mitigation strategies across countries in Asia and support Mexico.
- Drive supplier capability improvement in footprint and plating technologies.
Technical & Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with Operation, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure alignment on plating specifications, processes, and standards.
Cost & Lead Time Improvement

Lead cost reduction initiatives through:
- Benchmarking and VA/VE projects
- Process optimization with suppliers

Drive lead time reduction and supply flexibility improvement.
Supplier Performance Management
- Monitor supplier KPIs (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Service).
- Conduct regular business reviews and drive corrective actions.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify supply risks (capacity, environmental, regulatory, sole source).
- Ensure suppliers comply with environmental and regulatory requirements related to plating processes.
Continuous Improvement & Global Sourcing
- Drive commodity strategy initiatives across regions and best practice sharing.
What your background should look like
-
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.

8+ years experience in plating procurement or sourcing, preferably in the electronics industry.

Strong knowledge of electroplating processes, such as:
- Nickel, gold, silver, tin plating
- Connector plating

Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, and contract negotiation.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and drive projects end-to-end.

Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Fluent in English (written and spoken).
