Based in Hamburg, the position of Scientific Affairs Manager (f/m/d) offers the opportunity to shape our Medical Scientific Affairs activities in Germany with a focus on our brand elmex. 

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Maps, segments and prioritizes the relevant target audience of high-level experts/thought leaders, influencers, academia (established & upcoming) and professional associations in the hub assigned territory.
  • Keeps the relevant target audience informed on professionally relevant company initiatives and product launches through regular communication.
  • Adapts materials and divisional guidance for local execution in Germany, including classification and prioritization of dental/DH schools and the assessment of professional associations’ collaboration opportunity.
  • Builds top-to-top governmental/Public Health relationships and maximizes opportunities to be heard and give input on guidelines and publications relevant to long-term company commercial priorities; leverages these for communication, in alignment with Division.
  • Responsible for developing and executing the strategy that bonds students to our brand throughout their education lifecycle and ensures they become strong ambassadors in their professional lives
  • Supports Education Managers with relationship initiation and knowledge sharing towards academic and other professional influencers to facilitate 1-to-many education - incl. regional professional educators, corporate clinics managers, patient organizations, pharmacists & team, digital influencers per local priorities.
  • Agrees allocation of educational events and target external speakers ("Mid-level influencers") to be managed by the Education Managers in alignment with local POC manager and/or PBM; monitors success, compliance and adjusts professional education framework in alignment with HUB priorities.
  • Adapts and deploys professional/scientific master initiatives & materials on technologies & brands via Education Managers, as part of local professional brand support plans and in line with business priorities;
  • Facilitates investigator-initiated clinical research proposals through approval, contracting, completion, presentation, and publication, in alignment with EU Division agreed policy on IIT. Maintains relevant information in the company databases while securing legal and ethical compliance of the established interactions.
  • Provides support to all Marketing functions and Customer Development for localization, implementation and communication of divisional master communications bundles and initiatives (incl. Patient Experience programs) across hub assigned markets, towards profession, customers & patients, for all products relevant to profession, maximizing language and brand synergies.
  • Selectively supports top-to-top meetings and other key trade customer events as well as Retail Marketing initiatives in the hub, incl. customer education; capacity allocation to be agreed between POC leader and CD.
  • Tracks and reports relevant Scientific Affairs KPIs in line with division guidelines and methodologies.
  • Is the key contact and support for Consumer Affairs/Vigilance on OC-related topics in the market; opportunistically supports Legal to secure adequate translations of artworks and print/digital communication materials and in case of legal challenges.
  • Executes internal training to secure adequate Oral Care knowledge in Scientific Affairs, Education Manager teams, professional and mass field teams, Marketing, new employees, agencies; systematically gains and escalates feedback on applicability and appropriateness of training resources provided by Division.

 

 

Your Qualification:

  • Scientific or medical university degree, e.g. in dentistry, biology, biochemistry or DH training with experience in teaching and training, alternatively several years of training and/or external communication activities with pharmaceutical or health care companies
  • Excellent communication, presentation and persuasion skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences in language and content
  • Initiative, confidence and self-assurance in dealing with opinion leaders / influencers and training management
  • Experience in using digital presentation and communication tools
  • Fluent in written and spoken German and English
