About Fulfillment IQ (FIQ)
Fulfillment IQ is a supply chain engineering and transformation company that helps brands, retailers, and 3PLs design, build, and scale high-performance logistics operations.
We work at the intersection of strategy, operations, and technology where we solve complex, real-world problems across warehouse design, automation, order management, transportation, and end-to-end supply chain execution.
Our teams combine deep domain expertise with strong technical capability, delivering outcomes through consulting, systems implementation, and proprietary platforms that accelerate time-to-value and reduce delivery risk.
If you enjoy working in complex environments, partnering closely with clients, and seeing your work make a tangible impact on how global commerce moves, this is the place where your skills and judgment truly come to life.
Role Overview:
FedEx is rebuilding its Developer Portal under a multi-quarter program internally referred to as “Next Chapter.” The product organization is US-based, with five Product Managers reporting to Raj Virdee. The engineering organization sits inside FedEx ACC in Hyderabad: 10 ACC-employee developers, 10 vendor-augmented developers, and one architect.
The role’s primary focus is to maintain the bridge between the US product org and the India engineering org. Raj’s product managers write strong epics and features, but execution coordination and story-level translation in India need a dedicated owner.
This Product Owner connects the teams and they sit in Indian time zone, partner closely with the engineering team, run the Story Grooming ceremony, write user stories that are ready for engineers (and can plug into Copilot-assisted workflows), keep acceptance criteria tight, and coordinate execution across the team. The role is placed at FedEx via FIQ as a contractor, with Raj as the day-to-day client manager.
This is a product ownership role, not a Scrum Master or delivery management role. The person in this seat must bring genuine product judgment and the ability to act as the cultural and communication bridge between FedEx’s US product organization and the India engineering team.
Must Haves:
- 5–8+ years in Product Owner or Product Manager roles (not Scrum Master or BA who did PO work on the side)
- At least 3 years working on developer-facing products: developer portals, API platforms, SDKs, integration products, or internal developer platforms
- Working experience inside Indian corporate culture and the ability to navigate its communication and decision-making norms
- Proven track record of authoring user stories and acceptance criteria for technical/API features (not just consumer-facing features)
- Has personally run story grooming and sprint ceremonies as a core part of the job, not as a side responsibility
- Strong written and verbal English communication, with the ability to flex tone and method across cultural contexts
- Comfortable discussing system architecture and integration patterns with architects and engineering leads
- Proficient in Agile tools (Jira, Rally/Agility, or equivalent)
- Available to work IST hours with overlap into US working hours for product coordination
Key Responsibilities:
Story Grooming & Backlog Ownership
- Lead the Story Grooming ceremony each cycle: translate features into user stories, write clear acceptance criteria, and confirm acceptance criteria are met
- Develop and maintain a prioritized product backlog aligned to program objectives and stakeholder needs
- Author user stories in a structure that can plug into engineering workflows and AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot)
- Ensure all delivered functionality is validated against defined acceptance criteria prior to release
Execution Coordination
- Coordinate execution across the 20-developer team in Hyderabad: track who owns each story, unblock work, and keep the cycle moving
- Operate within FedEx’s 10-week TI cycle cadence (FedEx is transitioning from SAFe)
- Communicate sprint status, risks, and blockers to program leadership in a timely and structured manner
Cross-Cultural Bridge & Stakeholder Management
- Partner with the 5 US-based Product Managers on epic and feature breakdown
- Act as the cultural and communication bridge between FedEx ACC engineering and the US product organization
- Serve as the primary point of contact between product management and engineering squads for scope, sequencing, and delivery questions
- Bring a system-architecture perspective into refinement and design discussions, partnering with the existing architect rather than replacing them
What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days:
30 Days In
- Completed knowledge transfer from the outgoing Product Owner
- Has met the 5 US Product Managers, the architect, and the engineering manager
- Understands the current state of the Developer Portal, the “Next Chapter” direction, and the current TI cycle
60 Days
- Owns the Story Grooming ceremony as a regular cadence
- User stories are written and accepted into the engineering pipeline with clear acceptance criteria
- Coordination overhead between US PMs and India engineering is visibly reduced
90 Days
- First TI under their ownership closes on plan, or with clearly understood and documented variance
- Stories are written in a format that engineers consume cleanly and that supports Copilot-assisted workflows
- Trusted execution counterpart for the US product org, and trusted product voice for engineering in India
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on experience with REST API concepts, webhooks, authentication flows, or developer onboarding journeys
- Familiarity with developer experience (DX) best practices in documentation, sandbox environments, API reference
- Experience supporting a developer portal or API marketplace product
- Experience writing user stories structured for AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot)
- Hyderabad-based or willing to travel periodically to the FedEx ACC office
- Prior experience operating inside a mixed-employee/vendor engineering team
Certifications (Preferred, Not Required):
- CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) or PSPO (Professional Scrum Product Owner)
- SAFe POPM (SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager) will be useful given FedEx’s SAFe background and 10-week TI cycle cadence
- Any API-related certification (e.g., Postman API Fundamentals) would be a differentiator but not a screening gate
