Project Overview:
Job Summary:
With minimal supervision can develop, organize and manage physical security, personal security and emergency planning procedures and services project-wide, Applies specialized knowledge and expertise in formulating and implementing security plans, programs, policies and systems, as deemed appropriate to mitigate risks,, threats, vulnerabilities and local conditions. Manages and provides guidance to assigned security personnel and contracted site security services. Coordinates security activities and guidance (written & verbal) with project management and staff, site security services, functional manager and client representatives. #LI-TH1
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides overall direction and guidance in developing a security strategy and program for a large and complex energy project site.
- Proficient in detailing security plans and protocols in writing for management approval and publication for project compliance.
- Directs the identification, development, implementation, and maintenance of security strategies and programs so as to respond to security conditions and incidents, and to minimize risk of personal, physical, and financial harm to the company and related services.
- Organizes and direct the activities for all onsite security personnel to ensure compliance with project guidance and legal and regulatory requirements.
- Keeping senior project managers informed of any major events, concerns or critical issues learned.
- Develop and maintains a close working relationships with state & local law enforcement and regulatory agencies, as well as peer security professionals.
- Continuously monitor external actions to identify potential events that can disrupt project schedules, timelines and activities.
- Implements security awareness training on themes that can negatively impact on project safety and security.
- Provide oversight and guidance for contracted security serves in shaping their responsibilities, assignment duties and crafting post orders (written guidance).
- Ensure implementation and maintenance of policies for safeguarding internal security data and regulatory requirements to protect client proprietary information.
- Conducts investigations that may involve, but not limited to, project personnel, loss and/or damage to project property.
- Continuously review and update security procedures, policies, plan and programs – adjusting to lessons learned and best practices,
- Recruits, develops and provides, specialized training for security service personnel, as required.
- Formulates requirements for contract security services, assists in evaluating contractor proposals, and evaluates security services contract for compliance and performance.
- May represent the security department at senior-level management meetings and clients representatives.
- Develops, administers and manages security budge requirements.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience in leu of degree.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strongly preferred Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Formal and specialized training in industrial security, criminal justice, industrial relations, personnel and resource management, and associated disciplines or holds an undergraduate degree.
- Current knowledge of physical security principles, procedures, equipment & technology and its application for construction site/office security and senior executives.
- Demonstrated skills and abilities in developing, supervising and/or managing security programs requiring the application of recognized security measures, procedures and techniques.
- Having general knowledge and firm understanding of the Maritime Security Act (MARSEC) and Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Prior experience in managing security programs, including program planning, budgeting and personnel administration.
- Highly skilled in verbal and written communications with government officials, senior management, contractors and client representatives.
