As a Selection Specialist, you'll play a critical role in ensuring New Zealand Police recruits are people who reflect our values, demonstrate potential, and are committed to serving our communities.

This role will manage the final stages of the recruitment and selection process for applicants joining as new police officer recruits, ensuring a high-quality experience for applicants and stakeholders while maintaining the integrity and standards required by New Zealand Police.

Working within a collaborative national team, you will combine recruitment expertise, behavioural interviewing, assessment capability and sound professional judgement to identify candidates who are ready to serve New Zealand communities.

No two days are the same. You may be facilitating assessment activities, interviewing candidates, reviewing selection assessments, providing advice to stakeholders, completing candidate evaluations, or preparing recommendations that influence future policing outcomes.

This role offers the opportunity to:

• Conduct competency-based behavioural interviews.
• Facilitate candidate selection activities.
• Manage candidates through complex recruitment processes.
• Build trusted relationships with applicants and stakeholders.
• Assess information from multiple sources to support selection recommendations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the recruitment function.
• Work alongside some of New Zealand's most experienced recruitment and selection professionals.

We're looking for an experienced recruitment professional with strong end-to-end recruitment and selection capability, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll be confident conducting behavioural interviews, managing complex recruitment processes, building effective stakeholder relationships, and handling challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy. Experience in a public sector, emergency services, or other highly regulated environment, along with knowledge of assessment and selection methodologies, will be an advantage.

Utu ā-tau | Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $81,098 and $93,479 (mid point) dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
