Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation is seeking a Senior Analyst, Economics to join the Commercial and Marketing Forecasting and Reporting team. This team supports the short- and long-term profitability of Pembina’s assets by partnering with Commercial Services, Logistics, Business Development, Revenue, Financial Accounting, and key operational stakeholders across the organization to ensure assets are utilized efficiently and strategically, with the goal of maximizing return on invested capital (ROIC).
This is a full-time position reporting to the Manager, Commercial and Marketing Forecasting and Reporting. The Senior Analyst, Economics is an experienced individual contributor who takes ownership of defined analytical workstreams, independently drives complex economic and financial analysis, and provides well-developed insights to support strategic and commercial decision-making. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, with an emphasis on modelling commercial inputs into clear, actionable economic metrics that help support decision-making across the business.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
The Sr. Analyst takes ownership by leading defined workstreams, independently driving analysis and modeling, and coordinating with internal stakeholders and external advisors to support recommendations to senior leadership.
Economic & Financial Analysis:
- Lead economic evaluation of commercial opportunities, organic growth initiatives, and strategic projects using established corporate economics standards and frameworks;
- Develop, maintain, and review detailed financial and economic models incorporating commercial assumptions, market fundamentals, accounting considerations, and tax impacts;
- Conduct industry, market, and peer analysis to inform long-term asset utilization, value creation, and strategic positioning;
- Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis to assess risks, upsides, and trade-offs associated with commercial and strategic decisions; and
- Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, executive-ready summaries, recommendations, and presentations.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner closely with Commercial, Marketing, Business Development, Logistics, and Finance stakeholders to understand business objectives and provide value-add analytical support;
- Act as a trusted analytical advisor by delivering timely, relevant, and decision-focused insights aligned with business drivers and market fundamentals; and
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and, where applicable, external advisors to support business cases and strategic evaluations.
Leadership & Development:
- Take ownership of assigned workstreams and independently manage priorities, timelines, and deliverables; and
- Promote high standards of analytical rigor, data integrity, and accountability across team outputs.
Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve modeling, analysis, and data management processes, including automation where appropriate; and
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of economic, forecasting, and reporting methodologies to enhance efficiency, consistency, and insight quality.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or another quantitative discipline;
- Professional designation or advanced education (CFA, CBV, CPA, MBA) is considered an asset;
- Energy/midstream industry experience considered an asset;
- Experience with Canadian & US Energy & Utilities regulatory environment will be considered an asset; and
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in FP&A, economics, business planning, corporate development, or a related analytical role, with demonstrated depth in financial and economic modeling.
Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Advanced Excel skills with proven ability to develop and maintain complex financial and economic models;
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to synthesize large, complex datasets into meaningful insights and recommendations; and
- Experience with financial systems and reporting or visualization tools (e.g., SAP, Power BI or similar platforms) is an asset.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex analysis clearly to senior leadership;
- High degree of intellectual curiosity, self-awareness, and accountability;
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment; and
- Results-oriented, detail-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
