Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Senior Continuous Improvement Engineer. The position will be based onsite at our plant in Sumter, SC. We are offering relocation assistance and sponsorship support for candidates who live within the United States.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

In this role, you won’t just improve processes—you’ll transform the way work gets done, empowering teams, eliminating waste, and enabling sustainable growth aligned with Eaton’s strategic goals.
What You’ll Do
As a key member of our team, you will:

Lead high-impact Kaizen and Rapid Improvement Events, driving measurable results across the facility

Champion the Eaton Continuous Improvement System (ECIS), embedding Lean principles into daily operations

Partner with leaders to develop and execute the site’s long-term Continuous Improvement roadmap

Serve as a Lean expert and coach, training and mentoring employees at all levels

Strengthen and sustain our Lean Daily Management System, including:
- Daily accountability
- Standard work
- Visual management
- Process verification

Drive and facilitate cost savings initiatives, delivering tangible business value

Collaborate cross-functionally to support Operational Excellence goals (EHS, Quality, and more)

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or continuous improvement work experience required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
- Cost savings program experience
- Data Analysis, interpretation, and decision making through MS Excel, PowerBI, etc.
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification. Green Belt a Plus.
- Experience with low-medium volume, high mix, ETO manufacturing.
- Advanced skills and demonstrated experience with Lean tools, some Eaton specific: VSM, BPI, RIE, 5S, LMF, SUR, VAVE, IBD, etc.
- Cost Savings program experience supported with financial and business acumen.

Position Criteria:
• Effective communication skills (written, verbal, computer) required.
• Advanced ability to facilitate effective problem solving and collaboration through influence and leadership.
• Advanced proficiency with basic problem-solving tools and lean manufacturing principles such as 5Why, A3, PDCA, 5S, kanban, push vs pull, visual controls, standard work, Pareto Principle, etc.
• Basic proficiency with advanced problem solving and lean principles such as VSM, DMAIC, and Lean Daily Management Systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, PowerBI, etc.)
• Ability to lead and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support customer and manufacturing requirements.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk.
