ROLE PURPOSE

The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organization's perspective.

The role exists to develop, enhance, test, and maintain high-quality mobile applications that support Elm's digital products and services, including large-scale and business-critical platforms. The Senior Developer contributes to strengthening the team's mobile development capability by delivering reliable, scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions, supporting timely delivery of new features and improvements, and ensuring continuity of services in alignment with Elm's technology standards, policies, procedures, and business objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Key Activities

1.  Mobile Application Development

• Develop high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code for mobile applications in line with approved technical standards and requirements.
• Implement new features, enhancements, and fixes for existing mobile products and services.
• Contribute to reliable and user-focused mobile solutions that support business and customer needs.
• Ensure mobile application components are scalable, reusable, and aligned with agreed architecture and design guidelines.

2.  Technical Design & Solution Support

• Analyze business and technical requirements to support the design of effective mobile application solutions.
• Contribute to technical decisions related to architecture, tools, frameworks, and development approaches within assigned scope.
• Support the translation of requirements into clear technical tasks, components, and implementation plans.
• Collaborate with senior technical stakeholders to ensure solutions are practical, maintainable, and aligned with platform requirements.

3.  Feature Delivery & Product Enhancement

• Deliver assigned features and improvements for key mobile applications and digital products within agreed timelines.
• Support continuous enhancement of existing applications to improve functionality, performance, usability, and service quality.
• Coordinate with product, business, and technical teams to clarify requirements and ensure successful feature implementation.
• Contribute to timely releases supporting business-critical applications and services.

4.  Testing, Debugging & Defect Resolution

• Write and execute unit tests and support functional testing to ensure software reliability and quality.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects in coordination with relevant development and quality teams.
• Analyze reported issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate technical fixes.
• Support retesting and validation activities to ensure defects are resolved effectively before deployment.

5.  Code Quality & Review

• Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, maintainability, and quality expectations.
• Apply secure coding practices and development standards to reduce technical risks and improve software reliability.
• Identify opportunities to improve code quality, reduce complexity, and enhance application performance.
• Use version control systems effectively to manage code changes, branches, and collaboration with team members.

6.  Performance, Scalability & Reliability

• Optimize mobile application performance, responsiveness, and stability to support a smooth user experience.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and technical issues affecting application reliability.
• Support scalable mobile solutions that can accommodate increasing product and application demand.
• Monitor assigned components and recommend improvements to enhance service continuity.

7.  Technical Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including development guidelines, application components, APIs, and technical notes.
• Document implemented changes, fixes, and technical decisions to support future maintenance and knowledge transfer.
• Share technical knowledge and lessons learned with team members to support capability building and consistent delivery.
• Support onboarding and collaboration within the development team by providing clear technical explanations when required.

8.  Cross-functional Collaboration & Delivery Support

• Collaborate with developers, quality assurance teams, product owners, business analysts, and project stakeholders to deliver assigned work.
• Communicate development progress, technical risks, dependencies, and issues in a timely and clear manner.
• Participate in technical discussions, sprint activities, reviews, and delivery meetings to support project execution.
• Contribute to maintaining service quality and delivery continuity across critical mobile applications and digital platforms.

9.  Policies, Processes & Procedures

• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Comply with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

• Comply with all relevant information security practices and standards to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Academic and professional qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Years and Nature of Experience

• 2+ years of relevant experience in software development, mobile application development, or related technology roles.
• Experience in developing, maintaining, testing, and enhancing software applications.
• Experience in debugging, troubleshooting, code review, version control, and technical documentation.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver digital products, platforms, or technology solutions.
