POSITION SUMMARY:
Ambu A/S, a global Medical Device company, has entered its current ZOOM AHEAD strategy period of becoming the leading global endoscopy provider. To succeed with this, we need to develop our current platforms to scale from our current organisational set up to a multi factor increase on revenue, profitability and organisational platforms. To succeed with this, we have established a new position as Senior Director of IT, Americas. The Senior Director of IT, Americas is responsible for leading and developing IT across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, ensuring strong execution of Ambu’s global IT strategy while aligning regional activities with global frameworks, priorities, and governance. This role is part of the Global IT Management Team and operates within a highly integrated global IT organization, partnering closely with key IT functions including Commercial Platforms, Service Delivery, Digital Strategy & Architecture, and IT Project & Portfolio Management. The position will focus on strengthening regional execution in our key markets, particularly within Commercial and Service Delivery, while overseeing IT activities in two of our Manufacturing Sites in Noblesville, IN and Juarez, Mexico. A key priority is to assess the current IT landscape in the Americas, identify gaps, and define a clear path forward to improve alignment, performance, and scalability. The Senior Director will act as a trusted partner to business leadership, supporting ongoing business transformation initiatives and ensuring IT effectively enables commercial growth, operational efficiency, and digital development.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Conduct a structured assessment of the IT landscape across the region (people, systems, processes, service delivery), identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement
• Define and implement recommendations to strengthen IT performance, organizational structure, and alignment with global operating models
• Contribute to the global IT strategy as part of global management, including across our Platforms, Applications & wider IT strategy
• Ensure and deliver strong people performance across the region through both solid and dotted line leadership
• Act as a key interface between regional business stakeholders and Global IT, ensuring alignment of priorities and effective communication
• Lead execution of global IT strategy across the Americas, ensuring alignment with global standards, governance, and priorities
• Partner closely with Commercial leadership to support ongoing business transformation initiatives, including system adoption, process alignment, and digital enablement
• Ensure effective IT service delivery across the region, working in close coordination with Global IT Service Delivery to align with global frameworks and support models
• Support governance processes related to IT demand, prioritization, and project execution
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring transparency, alignment, and trust
• Ensure compliance with global IT policies, security requirements, and regulatory standards
• Travel as required (approximately 25%)
Qualifications:
• Extensive progressive IT leadership experience
• Strong experience leading IT within global, matrixed organizations with strong alignment to centralized functions
• Experience in regulated environments (medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or similar)
• Proven experience working across multiple IT domains, including Commercial IT, Service Delivery, and Manufacturing/Operations IT
• Demonstrated ability to assess and improve IT operating models, processes, and organizational structures
• Strong experience partnering with business stakeholders, particularly within commercial and operational environments
• Experience leading and contributing to business transformation initiatives, including system implementations and process changes
• Understanding of global IT governance, service delivery models, and shared services environments
• Ability to work effectively across regions and cultures, balancing global alignment with regional business needs
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive change through building trust and influencing skills
