Job Title:  Senior Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis (Data Information and Insights)

Reporting Relationship: Head - Financial Planning & Analysis

Purpose: Sony Pictures Networks India is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis (Data Information and Insights) to drive end-to-end analytical solutions that guide strategic decision-making across SPNI’s linear broadcast and digital businesses. This is an individual contributor role that requires deep functional knowledge of the media ecosystem—BARC ratings, audience behavior, digital consumption metrics, digital life cycle, ad sales levers, content performance, and marketing effectiveness.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical rigor with business acumen and the ability to translate data into clear narratives for senior leadership.

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related discipline.

Experience: 7–12 years of relevant experience in media analytics, broadcast analytics, digital/OTT insights, or marketing/demand analytics.

Prior experience in media networks, OTT platforms, digital agencies, or consultancies is highly preferred.

 Key Responsibilities:

1. Insights Strategy & Problem Solving

  • Act as the primary analytics partner to programming, digital strategy, ad sales, marketing, and leadership teams.
  • Understand business challenges across linear TV and digital ecosystems and design analytical frameworks to answer them.
  • Lead insight generation for content performance, audience shifts, channel health, and digital engagement.

2. Linear TV Analytics

  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on BARC viewership, time-band dynamics, market share movements, and competition trends.
  • Build strategic insights around scheduling, FPC optimization, content launches, and ratings drivers.
  • Provide data-backed recommendations on programming, acquisition, and portfolio management.

3. Digital Media & OTT Analytics

  • Analyze consumption trends across Sony LIV, YouTube, social platforms, and digital campaigns.
  • Evaluate funnel performance, content engagement, retention drivers, and user segmentation.
  • Integrate digital signals with broadcast insights to deliver holistic cross-platform intelligence.

4. Ad Sales & Commercial Insights

  • Support revenue teams with category insights, advertiser overlaps, and audience targeting strategies.
  • Build inventory analytics, reach-frequency models, and monetization impact assessments across linear and digital.
  • Develop storytelling decks for internal and external stakeholders.

5. Leadership Through Influence (IC Role)

  • Lead analytical problem-solving independently without a direct team.
  • Coach and influence cross-functional teams through strong domain knowledge and storytelling.
  • Ensure data quality and collaborate with data engineering teams for pipeline improvements.
  • Present insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and CXOs.

Critical Competencies:

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong working knowledge of BARC, Comscore, YouTube Analytics, Google Analytics, campaign measurement tools, and social analytics platforms.
  • Proficiency in statistical modelling and forecasting.

Business & Domain Skills

  • Deep understanding of linear TV audience measurement, market dynamics, and programming levers.
  • Strong grip on digital measurement, OTT KPIs, user journeys, attribution, and content engagement metrics.
  • Ability to connect analytical findings with real business outcomes—ratings, revenue, content ROI, acquisition performance, and marketing impact.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and data storytelling skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple senior stakeholders and drive influence without formal authority.
  • Strategic thinking with attention to detail.
