Your Impact:

  • Provide HSE guidance to WSP’s Program Management team
  • Assist with the review of subcontractors Hazard Analyses and Project-Specific Safety Plans prior to start of services to verify that subcontracted work methods address identified and potential hazards and comply with WSP and client safety SOPs
  • Assist WSP’s Program Management team with the development and implementation of a robust HSE inspection effort across all active construction sites.
  • Coordinate field safety inspections to ensure compliance
  • Review and comment on contractor adherence to OSHA, contractual safety requirements and local regulations
  • Review subcontractors daily hazard analyses and verify implementation of controls
  • Perform daily safety observations and identify best practices
  • Deliver safety training as required
  • Interface with contractors, managers, supervisors, team leads, and team members on safety aspects of work efforts to promote open communication and foster a climate of continuous improvement
  • Perform thorough incident investigations and root cause analysis to identify and implement corrective actions necessary to prevent future incidents.
  • Conduct, document, and timely submit required safety reports and project safety deliverables

This Opportunity WSP USA is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Senior Manager to implement, monitor, and continuously improve of our safety program for a major, long-term utility project in the greater New York City area. The successful candidate will be a key resource for interpreting health, safety, and environmental regulatory requirements, assuring compliance and best practices. As an integral part of our cross-services collaborative team, you will contribute to a growing organization dedicated to meeting our client's objectives and solving complex challenges. This Assistant Vice President-level position will report directly to the Program’s HSE Director and will be a fully dedicated, project position. The candidate can be based near any office in the NY/NJ area, provided they can mobilize to various project sites (Queens, Bronx, Nassau, Westchester, Suffolk counties) and attend office meetings (Manhattan) within a daily commute. They will provide ongoing communication to supervision and project management regarding the assessment of the HSE program's performance and will implement recommended actions to enhance safety and compliance.
