We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager – Sanctions – Policy, Regulatory and Framework.

In this role you’ll:
- Support the Head of Sanctions Policy, Regulatory and Framework in the drafting, consultaton, approval and continuous development of the Global Financial Crime Policy
- Play a leading role in drafting and continuously developing the sanctions elements of the Global Financial Crime Policy, including its supporting Standards, Appendices and non-mandatory Guidance.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of sanctions-related training, including Global Mandatory Training and Sanctions Officer Training.
- Lead the Group Sanctions MI and reporting, including defining MI requirements and governance, overseeing data capture and quality controls, producing timely and accurate reporting, and analysing insights to identify emerging trends, key drivers and areas requiring escalation or remediation.
- Lead sanctions-related risk assessments, including ownership and delivery of the HSBC Sanctions Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA), ensuring a consistent methodology, robust challenge, clear documentation, and timely escalation of material risks and control gaps.
- Support in the review of regulatory disclosures made by various HSBC markets.
- Work with relevant contacts in the Business, FC Sanctions and Global Functions (including other areas within the Compliance function) to oversee consistent and effective application and implementation of, and controls to evidence adherence to, relevant sanctions-related global standards, policies and its supporting Advisory Notices, procedures and guidance.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of sanctions regulations, legislation and guidance, in particular US,UK,EU and UN sanctions regulations experience.
- Ability to interpret sanctions regulations and create compliant, practical and efficient policy solutions.
- Proven ability of drafting policies, procedures, guidance, communications and regulatory disclosures
- Experience of managing and continously developing policies, in particular influencing the content and shape of the policy.
- Ability to design and deliver training modules, case studies and training assessments in line with sanctions regulations and legislations
- Experience in leading sanctions-related risk assessments, including our enterprise wide risk assessent.
- Abilitiy to develop, maintain and embed key sanctions reporting databases and processes, and produce and analyse management information (MI) to identify and escalate key trends.
- Excellent communicator with strong inter-personal and influencing skills, with experiene of dealing with internal and external stakeholders and regulators
