Job Vacancy: Senior Mould Operator (CCM)

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mould Operator for our Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for caster strand operation and monitoring as per Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).

Major Responsibilities:

• CCM Strand Operation: Efficient and safe operation of CCM strands.
• Proactive Actions: Taking proactive actions based on SOPs and experience during any abnormalities.
• Tundish Preheating: Fixing slide gate cylinder sensors, shroud fixing/changing, and cleaning.
• Mould Maintenance: Changing mould body, cleaning mould tube, and oil way cleaning.
• Casting Monitoring: Monitoring/controlling Tundish level during casting.
• Strand Startup: Ensuring smooth operation with close monitoring and compliance with SOPs.
• Abnormality Reporting: Informing shift foreman/supervisor of any abnormalities during the shift.
• Housekeeping: Maintaining cleanliness of the CCM control room and periphery area of the CCM casting floor.
• Additional Tasks: Performing any other jobs assigned by the supervisor for smooth plant operation.
• Shift Handover: Properly exchanging relevant information during shift handover.

Other Responsibilities:

• Ladle Nozzle: Opening/lancing and temperature sampling.
• Slag Box: Cleaning/changing of slag box and emergency slag box.
• Dummy Bar: Packing/sealing and oil tank topping up.
• Stand Preparation: Preparing stands for casting, sanding for Tundish nozzles.
• Strand Run Out: Cleaning in case of failures.
• Spray Nozzle: Cleaning/changing during turn round/down day.
• Shift Operations: Operating stands in shift, starting/restarting as required.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to plant safety norms and practices.
• HS&E Policies: Understanding and following organizational HS&E policies.

Supervision:

• Supervised by the Shift Supervisor.

Competencies:

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in liquid steel handling in a Steel Melt Shop at CCM Strand Operations.
• Skills: Efficient and safe operation of CCM strands, checking metal levels, understanding steel melt shop activities.
• Safety: Good understanding of safe practices and emergency response procedures.

Qualifications:

• Matriculation pass or equivalent.
