Senior Project Officer – Premium

 

  • $137,963 per annum + superannuation
  • Full-time, fixed term until 30 July 2027
  • Wadawurrung / Geelong based (hybrid, minimum three days per week in office)

 

About the opportunity

 

Join WorkSafe's Premium Policy & Technical Advice team and play a key role in developing and delivering projects, initiatives and process improvements that enhance the premium experience for Victorian employers.

 

As Senior Project Officer, you will lead initiatives across the Premium and Self-Insurance Division, support the implementation of endorsed premium changes and alternative premium options, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive positive outcomes. You will work closely with subject matter experts from across the Division and broader organisation to deliver projects, products, and process improvements.

 

Key accountabilities

 

  • Lead research and analysis to improve the premium experience for employers.
  • Implement endorsed premium recommendations and initiatives.
  • Manage Premium communication improvement activities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and support Premium learning and development opportunities.
  • Provide operational support for transformation initiatives across the Premium and Self-Insurance Division.

About you

 

You are a highly organised project professional who enjoys solving problems, building stakeholder relationships, and delivering outcomes across a complex organisation. You can manage competing priorities, work collaboratively across teams, and adapt to changing business needs.

 

The following skills, knowledge and experience are desirable (not all are mandatory):

 

  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to analyse performance trends and data to support program and project delivery.
  • Experience implementing process, product, and program improvements.
  • Ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders, including internal stakeholders, external providers, industry groups, and Insurance Agents.
  • Ability to work effectively both within a project team and independently.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including documenting meeting outcomes and actions.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of legislative and regulatory reform within a government or regulatory environment.
  • Exposure to project and change management methodologies, including PRINCE2, Prosci and Agile approaches, government environments and workers compensation insurance is well regarded but not essential

 

Qualifications

 

  • Relevant qualifications in project management, business, public policy, law, or related experience are desired (not mandatory).
