Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior SAP PP Consultant with strong automotive manufacturing domain expertise, hands-on SAP PP configuration, and deep experience in interfaces and SAP EWM-integrated production execution. The role supports high-volume, JIT/JIS-driven automotive manufacturing plants, including assembly lines, supplier integration, and line-side material supply, in an SAP S/4HANA landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Automotive Manufacturing Process Leadership
• Lead SAP PP solution design aligned to automobile industry manufacturing models:
• Translate business requirements from:
o Production planning
o Assembly line operations
o Warehouse & logistics
o Vendor scheduling
• Enable lean manufacturing, JIT/JIS, and line feeding concepts using SAP PP & EWM
Configure and optimize:
• Material Master (MRP, Production, Scheduling, Backflush)
• BOMs (Engineering vs Manufacturing BOMs)
• Work Centers (Assembly lines, labor/machine capacities)
• Routings with line operations
• Production Versions & alternative production
Planning & Execution:
• MTS, MTO, and Mixed Planning strategies
• Production scheduling & rescheduling
• Assembly line confirmations & backflushing
• Production order processing & variance analysis
SAP PP – SAP EWM Integration (Automotive Line Supply)
• Design and support tight PP–EWM integration for automotive plants
• Hands-on experience with:
o Production Supply Areas (PSA) mapped to assembly lines
o Staging methods:
? Line-side staging
? Crate-part handling
? Pull-based replenishment
o Kanban with SAP EWM
o JIT / JIS material staging and consumption
• Goods Movements:
o Component issue from EWM to production orders
o Finished vehicle / sub-assembly GR into EWM
• Optimize:
o Line feeding
o Supermarket & buffer storage
o Replenishment based on takt time
• Troubleshoot integration issues across PP, MM, EWM, and shop floor
Interfaces & Integration (Automotive Landscape)
• Design and support interfaces between:
o SAP PP and MES / PLC / shop-floor systems
o SAP PP, SAP EWM, and 3PL / supplier systems
• Strong hands-on knowledge of:
o SAP PI/PO or SAP CPI
o IDocs:
? LOIPRO (Production Orders)
? PORDCR (Order Confirmation)
? MATMAS, BOMMAT
? JIT/JIS-related message flows
o BAPIs, RFCs, and S/4HANA APIs
• Support:
o Interface monitoring
o Error reprocessing
o Data reconciliation for production continuity
• Work closely with ABAP & middleware teams
