Senior Software Engineer - Team Lead

This hands-on Senior Software Engineer - Team Lead, will lead a team of full stack Software Engineers, with responsibility for the collaboration, coordination and communication for the squad. You’ll be active in maintaining best practice code quality, design and architecture. Contributing to the larger codebase and technology roadmap, you’ll be designing, developing and implementing solutions both on your own and in peer development style. Movio applications require high performance and process lots of data, giving our engineers experience with concurrency, fault-tolerant systems, and distributed cloud architectures. Testability and Continuous Integration are very important to us, and we have great test coverage. You'll need to be able to work well in an autonomous and diverse environment while being able to prioritise effectively.

About the role • Motivate and lead the team, encouraging, guiding and directing Engineers in your squad, assisting them to become self-organised and to take ownership • Foster an environment of continuous improvement, sharing ideas, learnings and technologies with the team to help inspire, foster and encourage innovation • Support team members’ learning and growth, and lead by good example • Work with the Engineering Manager to encourage healthy team collaboration and communication processes such as code reviews, test shares, design discussions etc... • Help guide a team of Engineers to deliver high-quality and innovative solutions, acting as a Lead Engineer in the delivery of quality software architecture and code • Assist the Engineering Manager with technical interviews, selection, induction and mentoring of new team members, ensuring they are well integrated, trained and supported • Provide employee reviews, support, team-building, and cross-squad communication, providing coaching and mentoring, and recommending additional training where necessary • Act as a communication point to the team and other stakeholders communicating early when timeframes are at risk • Report team progress to the Engineering Manager, and execute and helping refine the Strategic Objectives
