Are you passionate about delivering high‑quality IT services and leading teams to provide excellent customer outcomes in a complex operational environment? This is an opportunity to lead a critical function, influence service delivery improvements, and help shape how IT services support Council’s workforce. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the Service Management Team (Service Desk), including three direct reports, to deliver efficient, customer‑focused IT services that meet Service Level Agreements.
- Overseeing the support and maintenance of Council’s end user environments, including desktop systems, applications, servers and IT hardware assets.
- Managing IT asset lifecycles, including capital assets, warranty periods and proactive asset replacement programs.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining operating guidelines and procedures to drive consistency and continuous improvement.
- Providing specialist technical advice and consultancy support to internal clients and key stakeholders.
- Coordinating and contributing to projects and change initiatives that support Council’s strategic and operational goals.
Skills and experience:
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing a team within a corporate IT service or service desk environment.
- Strong technical expertise across Windows desktop environments, server operating systems, applications and IT infrastructure.
- Experience managing IT assets, lifecycle planning and proactive replacement or refresh programs.
- Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer service and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Well‑developed communication skills, with experience producing reports, procedures and operational documentation.
- Experience contributing to or leading small to medium IT projects using practical project management approaches.
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology and/or ITIL certification are desirable but not essential.
