Salary Grade: PSE Grade C

   

Salary Range: £605.68 - £626.18 per week / £15.9389 - £16.4784 per hour

   

Working Arrangements: Full Time

    

The States of Guernsey is looking for a Signs and Lines Operative to join their team at States Works.

States Works is an independent trading organisation responsible to the States of Guernsey. The Division provides a wide range of municipal, maintenance and emergency services to the States of Guernsey and private clients. The Division’s workforce number approximately 220, with a turnover of in excess of £13.5 million per annum.

The Signs & Lines Section of States Works undertakes maintenance and inspection of the Island’s road traffic signs & lines and other information signs, traffic bollards, etc. The section is also responsible for the implementation of road closures, diversions, parking suspensions and emergency works under the instructions of the Environment and Infrastructure. The section operates from a purpose built workshop facility within the States Works complex at La Hure Mare.

The post holder is responsible to the Section Manager, who then reports into the Senior Manager, Technical. He/she is required to liaise in an efficient and effective manner with clients from States of Guernsey areas and private organisations, suppliers, contractors, work colleagues at all levels and members of the public.
