Site Operational Excellence Generalist (Position can be located in Stonington, IL.; Centralia, IL.; Waterman, IL.; OR Matthews, MO.)

 

As a Site Operational Excellence Generalist, you are dedicated to identifying and implementing process improvements within the supply chain and manufacturing environment; You analyze workflows, develop best practices, and foster a culture of continuous improvement while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall performance; In this role, you provide daily tactical operational excellence support for a manufacturing site or cross-site area, tracking and supporting improvement projects, sustaining onePSS, and embedding the One Management System at the site; As the site subject matter expert, you demonstrate a robust understanding of onePSS methodology, lean/agile principles, and change management approaches, coaching teams and catalyzing the evolution of onePSS to deliver greater value for site processes, products, and customers.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Provide daily tactical operational excellence support for the site or cross-site area, tracking and supporting improvement projects, onePSS sustainment, and One Management System deployment;
  • Act as the site subject matter expert for onePSS, demonstrating a robust understanding of lean/agile content and changing management approaches to situationally coach and catalyze the evolution of onePSS;
  • Review opportunities and findings at specific squads and units, facilitating sharing of learnings and best practices across peer squads, units, and enabling Operational Excellence teams;
  • Support the implementation of change by enabling solutions to roadblocks, ensuring recommendations and actions are mission-focused and enhance value for site processes, products, and customers;
  • Catalyze prioritized initiatives through 90-day cycles and agile methodologies, coaching teams to implement lean/agile process improvements and sustain gains over time;
  • Demonstrate and execute DSO mindsets and principles, working with squads and mission teams on daily tactical activities to ensure sustainment of onePSS at the site;
  • Share onePSS learnings and best practices in collaboration with peers and off-site Operational Excellence roles and One Management System teams, strengthening alignment and standardization;
  • Identify site needs and act as a primary point of contact to pull support from off-site subject matter experts within Operational Excellence focus areas;
  • Teach, coach, and mentor on site by working closely with site leads, squads, mission teams, and enabling teams to build capability and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • High School diploma or GED;
  • Valid Driver’s License;
  • Up to 40% travel.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Seven years of experience in operations and management areas, OR bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a similar field with 4 years of experience;

  • Prior experience working in a production system environment;

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and operate in a dynamic, change-oriented setting;

  • MBA and/or Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement certification;

  • Leadership experience in manufacturing or supply chain, including managing and developing teams;

  • Skill in influencing, teaching, facilitating, and negotiating with cross-functional teams;

  • Demonstrated courage, candor, and initiative in past assignments, with a strong commitment to driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

 

Position can be located in Stonington, IL.; Centralia, IL.; Waterman, IL.; OR Matthews, MO.

May be eligible for domestic relocation assistance

 

Posting available until August 5, 2026.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $83,280.00 - $124,920.00.  Compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
