Apply NowSanction Scanner — 3x Deloitte Fast 50 Winner — is an AI-powered RegTech company helping 800+ financial institutions worldwide with sanctions screening and AML compliance. We're looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead our 8-person engineering team and shape both the people and the platform behind it. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll have a direct impact on product strategy, engineering culture, and how we ship. We move fast, we ship often, and we don't wait for perfect — we iterate toward it. If you're an engineering leader who still loves being close to the code, cares deeply about your team's growth, and thrives in a high-ownership environment where speed and quality go hand in hand, keep reading. 🌟 Why You'll Love Working with Us • Real Impact: Your decisions will directly shape a platform used by 800+ customers in financial compliance — a space where software quality truly matters. • People + Platform Ownership: Lead an 8-person team, shape their careers, and own the technical direction of the product alongside them. • Direct Line to Strategy: Report to the CEO and influence both product roadmap and technical direction. • Fast-Paced & Hustle-Driven: We value builders who take initiative, move fast, and get things done. No bureaucracy, no waiting around — just impact. • Stay Close to the Code: This isn't a pure management role. You'll still review architecture, contribute to critical parts of the codebase, and keep your engineering instincts sharp. • Growth-Oriented Culture: Join a team that values continuous learning, clean engineering practices, and innovation.
📋 What You'll Be Doing • Lead the team. Manage, mentor, and grow an 8-person engineering team across multiple product areas. Run 1:1s, support career development, and create an environment where strong engineers do their best work. • Own delivery. Ensure the team ships predictably and with quality — healthy sprints, clear priorities, unblocked engineers, and steady release cadence. • Guide the architecture. Work with senior engineers to make architectural decisions that keep our platform scalable, reliable, and maintainable as we grow. • Stay hands-on where it matters. Review PRs, contribute to critical or complex parts of the codebase, and weigh in on technical design — enough to stay credible and keep your judgment sharp. • Raise the engineering bar. Define and enforce engineering standards — code reviews, CI/CD, testing, branch and deployment rules, documentation. • Partner with product and business. Translate product goals into clear technical roadmaps and push back constructively when trade-offs matter. • Own hiring. Drive recruiting for the engineering team — sourcing, interviewing, and closing strong candidates as we scale. • Set the pace. Drive urgency, unblock the team fast, and keep momentum high across sprints and releases. • Build engineering culture. Shape how we work — rituals, processes, and the way engineers grow and collaborate here.
