Your responsibilities
Reporting to the Spatial Data Management Team Leader, you will play a key role in spatial asset capture, quality assurance, system integration and continuous improvement of spatial data capture practices across Council.
In this role you will:
- Provide subject matter expertise in the spatial capture of infrastructure assets within GIS and AMS environments
- Capture, validate and integrate spatial and financial asset data using tools such as ESRI ArcGIS, AutoCAD, internal XML/Python tools
- Ensure asset data complies with ADAC guidelines, Council financial standards and asset management strategies
- Conduct quality assurance of spatial data prepared by internal staff and contractors
- Develop, review and implement spatial asset capture policies, procedures and quality frameworks
- Support system architecture, including GIS–AMS integration, XML translation tools and geodatabase templates
Skills and experience:
- Advanced knowledge of local government infrastructure assets and as‑constructed data requirements
- Strong technical competency in ESRI ArcGIS, preferably with demonstrated experience using ArcGIS Pro
- Knowledge of asset management and asset capture processes
- Demonstrated experience supporting asset accounting and valuation through accurate spatial data
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Proven ability to design procedures, deliver training, mentor and supervise team members and contractors
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
