What you’ll do
- Conduct safety audits and observe field activities
- Coach teams on proper safety techniques and procedures
- Lead toolbox talks and site-specific training
- Support root cause investigations of incidents
- Ensure crews are in compliance with PPE and job-specific hazards
- Document observations and report non-compliance
- Monitor usage of equipment and safety tools
- Coordinate with supervisors to improve safety performance
- Provide input on policy updates based on observations
- Travel between sites to maintain regional safety presence
What you’ll need
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of experience in field safety or utility safety oversight
- Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations
- Valid driver’s license; must travel to various job sites
Additional qualifications (if applicable)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at individual level and in group
- Ability to maintain records in well-organized manner
- Must maintain a satisfactory driving record while in the position, as consistent safe driving behavior is essential when training or setting an example for others
Physical abilities & exposures
- Routinely: Climb stairs, complete and maintain training, use keyboard/mouse, lift 10–25 pounds, stand, walk, work alone in remote locations, operate vehicles
- Occasionally: Lift 26–55 pounds, bend/stoop, perform repetitive hand movements, use portable ladders, work at heights, work in confined spaces, work with arms above shoulder level, operate heavy machinery
