Job Description
We are seeking a Squad Lead to guide the delivery of backend application and integration solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and Apache Camel. The role involves hands-on software development, technical leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and supporting the successful delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable technology solutions.
Job Description - Grade Specific
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
- Build, enhance, and support system integrations and messaging workflows using Apache Camel
- Develop RESTful APIs and backend components with a focus on scalability, performance, security, and maintainability
- Collaborate with product, frontend, DevOps, QA, and other technical teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members during solution design and implementation
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning activities
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in accordance with established development standards
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and automated tests to support solution quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues in a timely manner
- Contribute to CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and operational improvement initiatives
- Support application deployment and monitoring in cloud and containerized environments
- Promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and collaborative ways of working within the team
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in backend software development using Java and Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and enterprise-grade backend applications
- Experience using Apache Camel and Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) for systems integration
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with messaging and event-driven technologies such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, or RabbitMQ
- Understanding of software design principles, coding standards, and backend development best practices
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and software delivery practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
