Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. The Role
Cameco is looking for a motivated, experienced operator to join the process operations team at Cigar Lake. Reporting to the supervisor, process, your role will focus on ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient function of the operation’s various process circuits.
In this role, you will:
- Operate circuits according to established procedures and guidelines.
- Identify, document, and report any maintenance concerns.
- Support and mentor junior process operations personnel.
- Assist with the effective upkeep and maintenance of process equipment.
Required:
- grade 12 diploma or equivalent;
- five or more years of process or mill operation work experience, preferably in the uranium industry;
- equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
- valid Class 5 driver’s license;
- comfortable working both on surface and underground; and
- work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft.
Recommended:
- level 1 certifications in potable water treatment and wastewater treatment; and
- experience using SAP based maintenance applications.

The Cigar Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
