Job Description:
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The Staff Test Engineer will serve as a Technical Authority and hands-on expert responsible for developing, executing and optimizing validation playing a critical role in the Test setup, execution and analysis of DV, PV and Qualification testing for sensor products such as Pressure, MEMS, Resolver, Humidity and Position Sensors. This individual will lead complex test investigations, interpret international standards, support global engineering teams, and influence product robustness through data driven insights requiring hands-on approach, strong analytical skills and deep understanding of international standards and test methodologies and supports the central T&V lab in Bangalore, collaborates with global engineering team to ensure validation activities meet with the required standards, cost and schedule goals.
KEY RESPONSBILITIES:
Product-Line Ownership & Lab Technical Authority
• Own end-to-end Test & Validation for assigned sensor product line(s) (e.g., , pressure, position, speed, etc).
• Act as the go-to technical contact within the lab for standards interpretation, methods, and complex test queries.
• Translate manager’s direction into clear technical guidance and execution plans for Test Engineers/Technicians
Test Planning, Execution Guidance & Method Development
• Develop/endorse test plans, test matrices, and validation strategies aligned to product requirements and risk.
• Guide Test Engineers on fixture design, test setup, and functional testing best practices.
• Develop/refine test methods and automate where practical (LabVIEW, Python); ensure reproducibility and traceability.
Standards & compliance
• Interpret and ensure adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 17025, ISO 13485, AEC Q100/102/103, and relevant IEC/ISO/SAE and customer standards.
• Ensure test artifacts (plans, data, reports) meet regulatory, customer, and internal requirements.
• Plan and execute validation and reliability tests for sensor products in accordance with global and customer-specific standards.
• Develop test plans, procedures, and reports aligned with product requirements and regulatory needs.
Data Analysis, Reviews & Reporting
• Review and analyze test data analysis, identify trends, Interpret Charts and Test Criteria, ensure correct statistics, conclusions, and actions.
• Lead root-cause analysis and verification of corrective actions (8D, DOE, FMEA).
• Review / Author clear, complete test reports with traceability to requirements, methods, data, and conclusions.
. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and manufacturing to resolve technical issues.
. Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for test failures.
. Collaborate with global design and validation teams to align test scope, timeline and acceptance criteria.
. Contribute to lab standardization and continuous improvement initiatives in test methods, automation, and lab efficiency.
. Ensure Test activities are executed safely in compliance with EHS safety, quality, and documentation standards in the lab environment
. Mentor junior engineers and technicians in test execution and data interpretation.

What your background should look like
Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 12+ years of experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
