The Wireless Communications and Networks department at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute develops new technologies for the next generation of wireless communication systems. The Signal Processing and Sensing (SPS) group participates in national and international research projects addressing relevant topics in the fields of signal processing for mobile communications and radar systems. Be part of change
- Software development of signal processing algorithms for integrated communication and sensing (ISAC)
- Implementation of a DSP library in Python
- Technical documentation and maintenance of the software
- Experimental verification of the software via simulations
- Working with our hardware team to integrate algorithms into radio testbeds
What you contribute
- Full-time student at a German university in the field of electrical engineering, communications engineering, computer science, or mathematics with good grades
- Very good programming skills in Python with libraries like Numpy, Matplotlib, Jupyter, Scipy. Data-science libraries (Tensorflow, Pandas) are a plus
- Strong background in digital signal processing algorithms
- Basic understanding of wireless communications and radar systems
- Verifiable practical experience with code version control (Git) and CI/CD
- Good communication skills (English/German) and team spirit
- Availability to work in Berlin

The position is initially limited to 1 year. An extension is explicitly desired.
The monthly working time is 80 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
