Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher provides classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, supporting a safe, respectful, and faith‑centered learning environment. This role ensures continuity of instruction while upholding the academic and behavioral expectations of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans and classroom routines left by the regular teacher
- Maintain a structured, respectful, and orderly classroom environment
- Supervise students during instructional periods, transitions, lunch, and recess as assigned
- Uphold school policies, classroom expectations, and behavior management procedures
- Communicate student progress, concerns, or incidents to school administration
- Adapt instruction as needed to meet student learning needs
- Foster positive relationships with students rooted in Catholic values
- Follow all school safety procedures and confidentiality expectations
Schedule
- On‑call, as‑needed basis
- School‑day hours
- Follows the academic school calendar
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and follow written lesson plans
- Professional demeanor and flexibility
- Commitment to Catholic values and educational mission
- Ability to meet all background check and Safe Environment requirements
