Job Summary
The Summer Camp Counselor helps create a safe, positive, and faith-filled environment for children attending the Catholic school summer camp program. Counselors supervise campers, lead recreational and educational activities, encourage teamwork and respect, and model Catholic values through daily interactions and behavior.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and assist with games, arts and crafts, sports, educational activities, and outdoor recreation
- Encourage positive behavior, inclusion, kindness, and teamwork among campers
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating Christian values and respectful conduct
- Assist with daily camp setup, cleanup, attendance, and transitions between activities
- Support prayer, faith-based activities, and other Catholic traditions incorporated into camp programming
- Communicate appropriately with camp staff, parents, and school administration
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming camp environment
- Follow all school safety policies and child supervision procedures
Job Requirements
- Experience working with children preferred
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude, patience, and dependability
- Ability to model Catholic values and uphold the mission of the school
- Completion of diocesan safe environment or child protection training may be required
