System Architect – Product Development
Experience:10 to 15 years
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced System Architect to lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of a complex product involving hardware, mechanical design, embedded firmware, and software applications.
This role requires a strong balance of hands-on system architecture expertise and project/program management skills, ensuring technical excellence while driving timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the overall system architecture, including hardware, mechanical, firmware, and software components.
- Translate product requirements into system-level architecture, interfaces, and design specifications.
- Ensure seamless integration across disciplines—mechanical, electrical, embedded, and application layers.
- Review and approve key design decisions, schematics, architecture documents, and prototypes.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks early in the development lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulatory, and safety requirements
- Own the end-to-end project plan, including scope, timelines, milestones, cost, and resource planning.
- Act as the single point of accountability for delivery commitments
- Track project progress, dependencies, risks, and issues; proactively drive resolution.
- Ensure clear cross-functional communication among engineering, QA, operations, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Work closely with customers, vendors, and manufacturing partners.
- Facilitate design reviews, architecture walkthroughs, sprint planning, and milestone reviews.
- Align technical decisions with business objectives and customer expectations
Required Skills
- Strong background in system-level architecture for complex products combining:
- Hardware (electronics, sensors, boards, power systems)
- Mechanical design (enclosures, manufacturability)
- Embedded systems (firmware, RTOS, drivers)
- Software applications (desktop, web, cloud, or mobile as applicable)
- Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
- Experience leading technical teams without direct authority.
- Strong ownership, accountability, and decision-making ability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to bridge the gap between technical needs and business needs.
- Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and guide teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related fields)
- Experience with regulated products such as medical, industrial, automotive will be a plus.
