We are seeking a Systems Specialist, FP&A to join our Global IT function, supporting FP&A systems and platforms across a global remit.

About the Role

Reporting to the Analytics Platform Lead, the Systems Specialist, FP&A is a senior subject matter expert responsible for the stability, accuracy and optimisation of global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) systems.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role provides deep technical and functional expertise across planning, forecasting and reporting platforms. You will play a critical role in leading system enhancements, guiding design decisions and advising senior Finance stakeholders on system capability and best‑practice use.

Working closely with Finance, IT and external partners, you will strengthen financial processes, data integrity and user experience across the FP&A ecosystem, supporting critical business cycles and driving continuous improvement.

This role can be based at our Sydney, Melbourne, or Adelaide offices.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Acting as the senior subject matter expert for FP&A systems, integrations and end‑to‑end data flows 
•    Supporting BAU operations including system stability, user access, security roles and scheduled and ad‑hoc data loads 
•    Designing, delivering and validating system enhancements aligned to complex business requirements 
•    Providing advanced technical support, resolving issues through detailed root‑cause analysis and sustainable long‑term fixes 
•    Partnering with Finance, IT and vendors/system integrators on solution design, optimisation and delivery 
•    Supporting month‑end, forecast and planning cycles through system‑driven validation and assurance 
•    Maintaining high‑quality documentation including process maps, functional and technical specifications and SOPs 
•    Ensuring strong governance over data quality, system performance, integrations and controls 
•    Identifying opportunities to streamline planning and reporting through automation and improved system capability 
•    Collaborating across regions and time zones to deliver scalable, globally consistent improvements 
•    This role operates in a hybrid working model, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.  

Experience and Capability

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

•    7–10 years’ experience in financial systems administration, development or advanced technical support 
•    Demonstrated experience acting as a primary or senior systems expert within FP&A or Finance environments 
•    Strong experience with financial planning and reporting platforms (e.g. Oracle EPM, Hyperion, Essbase, JDE or similar) 
•    Strong SQL capability and understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts 
•    Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades or platform restructures 
•    Advanced Excel capability and sound understanding of SDLC methodologies 
•    Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to advise and support senior Finance leaders 
•    Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities across global teams 
•    A tertiary qualification in IT, Finance or a related discipline is desirable but not essential
