Job Summary
St. Alban Roe Parish School is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and mission‑driven K–8 Spanish Teacher for the upcoming school year. This educator will introduce students to foundational Spanish language skills while immersing them in the rich cultures of Spanish‑speaking countries. The ideal candidate supports the mission of Catholic education, fosters a respectful and engaging learning environment, and integrates the cultural and faith traditions of the Catholic Church present within Spanish‑speaking communities.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality Spanish instruction aligned with Archdiocesan and school curriculum standards for grades K–8.
- Develop engaging, age‑appropriate lessons that build foundational vocabulary, grammar skills, and cultural understanding.
- Introduce students to the traditions, history, and Catholic heritage present in Spanish‑speaking cultures.
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation, curiosity, and respect.
- Use a variety of assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs across multiple grade levels.
- Integrate technology, including G Suite for Education (Google Workspace), to enhance instruction and student engagement.
- Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, grades, and communication with families.
- Collaborate with colleagues and administrators on curriculum planning, school initiatives, and student support.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students, families, and staff.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and schoolwide events.
- Model and uphold the values of Catholic education and contribute to the faith life of the school community.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Spanish, or a related field required.
- Proficiency in both Spanish and English, with the ability to explain grammar and vocabulary clearly and appropriately for various age groups.
- Valid Missouri teaching certification or eligibility for certification preferred.
- Classroom teaching experience, especially in world language instruction or elementary/middle school settings, preferred.
- Strong understanding of effective language‑learning strategies and instructional best practices.
- Familiarity with G Suite for Education (Google Workspace) and instructional technology platforms.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the mission, values, and traditions of Catholic education
