Requisition Summary:
PACCAR India is looking for a skilled Technical Lead for Engine Design to join our dynamic team in Pune, specializing in the Base Engine design & development. Engine Peripheral components and systems.
As a Technical Lead at PACCAR, you will leverage your expertise in Engine development, component packaging, installation drawing, and co-ordination with cross functional team to ensure Engine parts are robust design, and compliance with technical requirements.

Job Function / Responsibilities:
- Heavy Duty Engine Design Experience.
- Create, review, and release engine concepts, layouts, 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, and assembly/installation documentation using Creo
- Ensure effective integration of engine systems within vehicle architecture, considering packaging constraints and surrounding components
- Support prototype builds and Engine trial fitments to validate design feasibility.
- Identify, analyse, and resolve design-related issues during prototype development, testing, and product validation phases
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design calculations, engineering reports, design review presentations, and engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs)
- Strong knowledge of base engine systems and engine auxiliaries, including fuel system, intake and exhaust system, FEAD system, and lubrication system, Engine Auxiliaries electricals systems etc.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness
The primary function for this position includes:
- Proven experience in Heavy Duty Engine Design and Development
- Independent project handling and project management
- Strong knowledge of Casting Components, Sheet Metal Design, and Piping Systems
- Understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes
- Provide technical assistance to teams and ensure their productivity and delivery deadline.
- Hands-on experience with Top-Down Design, Skeleton Modelling, and Assembly Structure development in Creo
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Production Engineering
Technical / Professional Experience Desired:
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
- Expertise in component validation, test procedures and issue resolution
- Hands-on experience with product design & development lifecycle
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively.
- Strong decision-making and leadership capabilities.
