Unit Associate I – Emergency Dept

Full time – Night shift – 40 hours.

 

 

The Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Emergency Services is a designated Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, regional Pediatric Trauma Center, Eye Trauma Center, Stroke Center, and Cardiac Center for the state of Maryland. The Adult Emergency Department provides 24/7 comprehensive care to adult and geriatric patients as well as trauma patients 15 years and older. The department consists of 76 treatment beds and handles more than 60,000 visits annually.

 

The Unit Associate is responsible for a wide variety of tasks that help to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of healthcare services to our patients. This is a fast-paced position where the associate will be required to work in collaboration with Nurses and the Unit Coordinator. Daily tasks include stocking items to Pyxis and supply carts, monitoring expiration dates on items, ensuring that patient rooms are properly stocked with supplies and linens, restocking supply rooms, maintaining a clean work environment and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergency/ urgent situations and to follow established procedures
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with hospital equipment, supplied and procedures (highly preferred)
  • Highly effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with inter-professional staff, patients, families, visitors and other hospital employees
  • General office, communication equipment, cleaning equipment, knowledge of keyboarding and basic Windows applications.

Salary Range: Minimum 17.07/hour - Maximum 19.81/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
