If you’ve ever been told you’re a great listener or that your presence helps others feel at ease, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Marie Curie is looking for compassionate, everyday people to join our Community Companion Team to be part of something truly meaningful - offering emotional support to people in the final stages of life and their loved ones.

Availability: 3 hours per week

Time: Flexible to suit your schedule

Locations: Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire or Pembrokeshire

Criteria: Minimum 18 years of age

 

What you’ll do:

  • Spend time each week visiting someone in their home and offering companionship
  • Share a friendly chat, enjoy a cuppa together, or simply sit in peaceful company
  • Listen to cherished memories, swap stories, or talk about everyday life
  • Give carers or family members a short, well-deserved break
  • Be a calm, reassuring presence when it matters most

Please note, a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this opportunity - Marie Curie will cover the cost of this. Driving and access to your own vehicle is desirable but not essential
