Job Description

. Water Supply & Infrastructure·       Rehabilitate and upgrade water supply systems in health facilities ·       Ensure continuous running water in OPD, maternity, pediatric wards, laboratory and immunization areas ·       Support solarization of water systems and pipe network expansion ·       Oversee installation of water storage reservoirs ·       Conduct water quality testing and treatment ·       Establish and support water point management committees ·       Provide maintenance tools and capacity building for sustainability 2. Sanitation Infrastructure·       Construct gender-segregated and disability-inclusive latrine facilities ·       Improve sanitation facilities in health centers ·       Promote safe latrine use at household level ·       Address open defecation through community interventions 3. Infection Prevention & Control (IPC)·       Ensure functional handwashing stations in all supported facilities ·       Support provision of soap and alcohol-based hand rubs ·       Strengthen IPC compliance in stabilization centers and health facilities ·       Integrate WASH into clinical service delivery environments 4. Healthcare Waste Management·       Establish healthcare waste management systems ·       Ensure waste segregation, storage, transport, and disposal ·       Construct incinerators, sharps pits, and waste storage facilities ·       Provide PPE and color-coded bins ·       Develop SOPs for waste management 5. Hygiene Promotion·       Conduct KAP surveys ·       Develop IEC materials ·       Train community volunteers and health workers ·       Deliver hygiene promotion sessions ·       Promote handwashing, water treatment, and sanitation practices 6. Capacity Building·       Train health staff on WASH, IPC, and waste management ·       Provide mentorship and supportive supervision ·       Strengthen local capacity for system maintenance 7. Community WASH·       Implement WASH activities in communities ·       Promote safe water handling and hygiene behavior change ·       Strengthen community engagement structures ·       Support risk communication efforts 8. Environmental Safeguards·       Apply environmental screening tools ·       Ensure environmental compliance ·       Mitigate public health risks 9. Coordination·       Coordinate with Ministry of Health and partners ·       Integrate WASH with health and nutrition programs ·       Participate in multisectoral planning 10. Supplies & Logistics·       Ensure availability of WASH supplies ·       Support procurement and distribution ·       Monitor usage and replenishment
