Overall Purpose of the Job

We are currently seeking an experienced Workshop / Maintenance Supervisor to oversee workshop operations, equipment maintenance, and personnel, ensuring assets are maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability.

As Workshop / Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating all workshop and maintenance activities to ensure equipment is maintained, repaired, certified, and available to support operational, engineering, and project requirements.

You will lead and support workshop personnel, manage departmental priorities, and ensure compliance with Expro's Quality Management System and Health, Safety and Environmental standards.

Key Activities and Accountabilities

  • Coordinate workshop activities to ensure operational, project, and engineering schedules are achieved safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained, repaired, inspected, and certified in accordance with company standards and applicable certification requirements.
  • Supervise workshop personnel and provide leadership, guidance, and technical support to the maintenance team.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, service quality, and workshop performance.
  • Monitor equipment movement and asset tracking to ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are completed using the latest approved documentation, procedures, and job cards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all personnel understand and exercise Stop Work Authority when required.
  • Ensure incidents, near misses, and non-conformances are reported, investigated, and addressed within established deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate workshop records, maintenance status boards, and certification documentation.
  • Participate in daily operational meetings, toolbox talks, and planning sessions to coordinate maintenance priorities and resource requirements.
  • Liaise with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other internal stakeholders to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Manage third-party rental equipment processes, ensuring assets are tracked and returned promptly when no longer required.
  • Ensure pressure testing equipment, chart recorders, test pumps, and associated assets are maintained and certified in accordance with company requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and utilise Document Change Requests (DCRs) to maintain controlled documentation and procedures

Job Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Technical qualification in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience within a relevant maintenance, workshop, or technical operations environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, equipment certification, and asset management processes.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Desirable

  • Experience within the oil and gas, energy, or industrial services sector.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Experience managing workshop KPIs, budgets, and resource planning.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
