About the Youth Consultation and Treatment Team (YCTT)
The YCTT is a multi-disciplinary team that provides assessment and treatment for young people aged 16-25 with any mental disorder except primary functional psychotic disorders (this includes affective psychoses). The YCTT ensures that intervention is appropriate to the mental health disorder, a young person’s and their family’s preferences for care, and to the developmental phase of the individual. The treatment length and modality are decided upon by the young person and the treating clinician. This is often based upon a thorough developmental history and psychological formulation of the young persons’ mental health difficulties.
