The Head of Procurement is responsible for leading the organization's procurement function by developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and compliant procurement of goods and services. The role oversees the end-to-end procurement process, mitigates supply chain risks, and leads the procurement team to support the successful delivery of business and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Lead the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, tendering, negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance monitoring.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring quality, compliance, and value for money.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and contracts to achieve optimal business outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and ethical standards.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Professional procurement or supply chain certifications (e.g., CIPS) are desirable.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of procurement experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and procurement for large-scale projects.
  • Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Office applications.
